Raising Makers Coaching
What actually works in a handmade business. And what doesn't.
I am Heather — a maker who built a studio from a garage, and I teach other makers the systems I had to learn the hard way. No fluff, no theory, no guessing.
Free. No course required. Start there and see if I am your kind of teacher.

In August 2026 I taught the Shopify session at The Next Level Maker Conference and sat on the main stage panel, alongside the LightBurn, xTool and ChatGPT sessions.
I get it. I have been exactly where you are.
In 2015 the company I worked for closed and my job went with it. I started Paisley Grace Makery out of my garage with a stack of wood, a handful of paint, and absolutely no idea what I was doing.
Eleven years later I own the building. The studio runs workshops most weeks, mobile and corporate parties off site, a subscription box, a retail side and a personalization side. I am also a mom, which means every system in this business was built around a life that does not pause for it.
None of that happened because I am special. It happened because I kept figuring out the next thing, usually after getting it wrong first.
And right now? You are probably in the middle of one of those wrong things, wondering if it is just you.

It is not just you. It is the part nobody posts about. And it is the part I will actually talk to you about.
What I Believe
We are given mountains to show others they can move.
I did not learn this from a book. I learned it from the mountains. The pricing I got wrong for two years. The holiday season that nearly broke me. The hire that did not work out. The website I rebuilt three times. The month the numbers did not add up.
Every one of them was awful while I was in it. Every one of them is now a foothold I can hand to someone standing at the bottom of the same climb.
Every step I take should make the path smoother for the next maker. That is the whole point of Raising Makers. The mountain was never just mine.

The Raising Makers Community
A free group of paint party leaders, DIY studio owners, laser businesses and handmade sellers who answer each other's questions instead of guarding the answers. I am in there too.
Come ask the thing you have been too embarrassed to ask. Somebody in that room has already solved it, and nobody is going to make you feel silly for not knowing.
What Happens When Makers Stop Guessing
Real students, in their own words. Every one of these is a verified review on one of the programs below.
Joining this course changed me from a hobbyist to a CEO. Heather changed my mindset and showed how to make my hobby an actual business starting from the ground up.

The Maker's Blueprint
I didn't have a clue on where to start. In 3 days I had a website, knew how to use variables, infinite options app and how to set up the email collection. It's been better than hiring someone to do it for me because I'm in control.

The Maker's Shopify Course
This training truly lit a fire under me to stop dreaming about my business and start making it happen. Heather is hands down one of the best business trainers I have ever learned from. She doesn't just give you information and send you on your way. She makes you do the work.

The Coaching Path
Build the Business First. Then Never Build Alone Again.
There is an order to this, and it is not an accident. You cannot systemize a business you have not built the foundation of yet, and you will not get much out of a room of experienced owners until you have one.
So: the Blueprint first, the Mastermind after. The Shopify Course sits alongside both, for whenever the website is the thing in your way.
Step 1 · Start here
The Maker's Blueprint
“I am working constantly and I am still not sure this is a real business.”
The foundation. Six recorded modules and a 100-page workbook that take you through branding, pricing you do not apologize for, sourcing and vendors, project and holiday planning, systems and website, and the marketing that actually fills seats.
Built around four income streams — DIY workshops, mobile paint parties, take-and-make kits and finished goods — because a studio running on one of them is quiet every January.

Step 2 · Where you go next
Raising Makers Mastermind
“I have the systems. What I do not have is anyone to talk to.”
The ongoing room. Weekly live coaching and four Zoom trainings a month on mindset, social media, systems, subscription boxes, scheduling, hiring and tech. Every month you also get five SVGs with painted marketing photos and five Canva templates with swipe copy, so you can add to your line-up without starting from a blank page.
And the part that makes it work: 15-mile zip code protection for as long as you are a member. Nobody within that radius is being trained the same way, which is why the room can be completely honest. Members are also invited to the annual Maker Meet Up here in Fernandina Beach.

The Blueprint is the prerequisite for the Mastermind, and it stays yours either way — there is no requirement to go on to the membership.

The Maker's Shopify Course
“My website is half-built and I cannot change it without help.”
This one is not a step in the path, it is a tool you pick up whenever the website is what is standing in your way. Self-paced video lessons, no live calls, no code: themes, collections, shipping and local pickup, selling workshops as bookable products, and the SEO basics. Plenty of people take it with a site already live and finally finish it.

How I Show Up for You
Whichever one you pick, this part does not change.
I will tell you the truth
Even when it is not what you hoped to hear about your pricing, your website or your schedule. Flattery has never grown anyone's business.
I will not leave you half-built
Getting stuck is part of it. When it happens, you ask, and we get it sorted. I have never been interested in selling someone a course and disappearing.
I will give you more than you paid for
That is not a sales line, it is a habit I cannot break. My students say it more than they say anything else, and I am going to keep doing it.
I will meet you where you are
Garage or storefront, first workshop or hundredth, mobile or brick and mortar. There is no entry requirement here other than wanting it.
A Teacher in the Laser and Maker Community
Teaching did not start as a business. It started because makers kept asking me how, and I could not stand the thought of someone giving up on something I knew was possible.

The makers I teach are not competitors to me. That is why the Mastermind holds one leader per zip code radius — so the room is full of people who can be completely honest with each other. Collaboration beats competition, every single time, and I will keep saying it until nobody in this industry is building alone.
Let's Move Your Mountain.
You did not start this because you wanted an easy life. You started it because you make things, and you knew there was something real here.
Whatever is standing between you and that — the pricing, the website, the systems, the sheer loneliness of doing it by yourself — it is a climb somebody has already made. Come and borrow the map.
Or start where nearly everyone starts — The Maker's Blueprint.
Either way, I am glad you are here. Stay a while.
— Heather
