Epoxy Workshop · Amelia Island Map · Fernandina Beach, FL
Pour the ocean. We'll add the island.
Amelia Island, laser-cut in wood right down to the marsh creeks, sitting on an epoxy ocean you pour yourself. Pick your size, pour your colors at an Epoxy Workshop at Paisley Grace Makery, and our team attaches the map once your pour has cured. From $125.
Epoxy Workshops run on select dates only. Seats are limited per session.
What is the Amelia Island epoxy map?
The Amelia Island epoxy map is a framed wood wall piece: a laser-cut, engraved map of Amelia Island in Nassau County, Florida, layered over a background of poured epoxy resin. The streets are engraved into the wood, and the Amelia River, the marsh creeks and the Atlantic are cut all the way through, so the resin underneath shows through as the water.
Think of it like a stained glass window turned inside out. The wood map is the leading, and your resin is the colored glass glowing through every creek and inlet.
In the workshop, the water is your part. You choose the colors and pour the background. We cut the map and attach it for you, so the detail work is already done.
How the map workshop works
You pour the water. We bring the land.
Choose 8x10, 11x14, 16x20 or 20x24 in the Size menu, then pick your workshop date from the list by the Add to Cart button.
We mix the epoxy for you. You choose your blues, teals and greens, pour the background, and use the heat gun to pull the white into foam and wave lines.
Your pour cures at the studio, then our team attaches the laser-cut map on top. Your finished map is ready 7 days after class, for pickup or $10 shipping.
Same island, a different ocean every time
Every map below started with the same laser-cut island. The water is what each maker poured: stormy blue, sea glass, bright Caribbean aqua. Yours will be the only one like it.

Amelia Island epoxy map questions, answered
What is the Amelia Island epoxy map?
The Amelia Island epoxy map is a framed wood wall piece made at Paisley Grace Makery in Fernandina Beach, Florida. A laser-cut, engraved wood map of Amelia Island sits on top of a poured epoxy resin background, and the resin shows through the cut-out river, creeks and ocean as the water.
How much does the Amelia Island map workshop cost?
The Amelia Island map workshop is $125 for the 8x10 inch size, $175 for 11x14, $225 for 16x20 and $275 for 20x24. The price includes your board, epoxy, color pigments, instruction, and the laser-cut map attached by our team.
What do I actually make in the workshop?
You pour the epoxy resin background, which becomes the ocean, river and creeks. You choose the colors and create the wave and foam effects with a heat gun. After your pour cures, our team attaches the laser-cut map of Amelia Island on top.
What does the map show?
The map shows Amelia Island in Nassau County, Florida, with the Atlantic Ocean on the east side and the Amelia River and winding marsh creeks on the west. Streets are engraved into the wood, and it is finished with a compass rose and an "Amelia Island, Nassau County, Florida" title.
Which size should I choose?
Choose 8x10 for a shelf, desk or easy-to-carry gift, 11x14 for a gallery wall or entry, 16x20 for a piece that hangs on its own, and 20x24 for a statement piece over a mantel or sofa. The larger the map, the more room you have to play with the ocean pour.
When are the epoxy workshops?
Epoxy projects run on select Epoxy Workshop dates only, not during daily Open Paint. The current dates are listed next to the Add to Cart button on this page. Pick your date there, then check out. You can also see every class on the workshop calendar or browse the other epoxy workshop projects.
Can kids or teens make an epoxy map?
Evening Epoxy Workshops are for ages 16 and up. Select afternoon sessions are open to all ages. Each date in the list is labeled "Ages 16+" or "All Ages" so you can pick the right one for your group.
Can I take my map home the same day?
No. Epoxy needs time to cure rock hard, and the map is attached after that. Your finished Amelia Island map is ready 7 days after class. Pick it up at the studio, or choose the $10 shipping option and we will send it to you.
Do I need any experience with epoxy resin?
None. We mix the resin, demonstrate the pour, and walk you through the heat gun step by step. The precise part, the map itself, is cut by our laser and attached by our team, so a first-time pourer goes home with a professional-looking piece.
Can I choose my own colors?
Yes. You choose your resin colors in class. Deep blues, teals, sea glass greens and white foam are the classics for an ocean look, and no two pours ever come out the same.
Can I buy the Amelia Island epoxy map already finished?
Yes. If you would rather not pour it yourself, order the finished Amelia Island Map Epoxy Poured Sign, poured by our studio team. It is a good choice for gifts and for anyone who cannot make a workshop date.
Can I get an epoxy map of a different place?
This workshop project is the Amelia Island map. To see our other map pieces, browse the epoxy maps collection. For a different island, lake or hometown, send us a custom design request and we will let you know whether we can make it and what it would cost.
How do I care for an epoxy resin map?
Hang it indoors and dust it with a soft dry cloth. Keep it out of all-day direct sun so the resin stays clear and glossy, and do not use spray cleaners on the wood.
Can I book a private epoxy map party?
Yes. Epoxy projects can be booked for birthdays, girls' nights and team events. Start on our private party page and tell us you would like the Amelia Island map.
