What is the Create Your Own Sea Glass Frame?
The Create Your Own Sea Glass Frame is a 5x7 or 8x10 frame whose clear glass becomes your canvas. You arrange sea glass, crushed glass and shells into a design, and it is sealed in clear resin. Hang it in a window or prop it on a shelf, and the light comes through the picture.
Think of it as a mosaic you can see through. There is no pattern to follow: guests have made sea turtles, seahorses, whale tails, waves, sunrises, butterflies and crosses.
We have a wide variety of glass colors and shapes in the studio. Bring your own sea glass, shells or shark teeth, and the frame becomes a keepsake of the beach where you found them.

Register to reserve your project
In-stock projects vary daily, so registering is the best way to make sure this one is waiting for you. Add it to your cart and choose your date in the Choose Your Workshop menu by the Add to Cart button. Walk-ins are welcome during Open Paint, Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm, and choose from what is in stock that day.

Design on the glass
Lay out your sea glass, crushed glass and shells on the glass. Nothing is permanent until you are happy with it.

Seal it, then let it set
Your design is sealed in resin. Frames are best left at the studio overnight to set. If you need to take yours with you, plan to carry it flat and carefully.

Do I need experience to make sea glass art?
No. Every project comes with everything you need, and our team walks you through it step by step. Most of our guests have never made anything like it before.
When can I make the sea glass frame, and do I need a reservation?
Registration is recommended if you want this specific project, because in-stock projects vary daily. Add it to your cart and choose a date in the Choose Your Workshop menu to make it during Open Paint (Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm, all ages) or at a 6pm Pick Your Project workshop on Thursday, Friday or Saturday (ages 16+). You can also check the workshop calendar. Walk-ins are welcome during Open Paint and choose from the projects in stock that day. The studio is closed Sunday and Monday.
Can I take my sea glass frame home the same day?
We recommend leaving your frame at the studio overnight so the resin can set, then picking it up on the next day we are open (Tuesday to Saturday). If you need to take it with you the same day, carry it flat and handle it carefully. Sun catchers, nightlights and ornaments are the sea glass projects that go home the same day.
Which size sea glass frame should I choose?
The 5x7 ($45) suits one small scene, like a turtle or a seahorse. The 8x10 ($67.50) gives you room for a bigger scene or a larger collection of your own beach finds.
Do I have to follow a pattern?
No. This is a create-your-own project, so the design is up to you. If you would like ideas, our team and the finished pieces around the studio are a good place to start.
Can I bring my own sea glass, shells or shark teeth?
Yes. We have a wide variety of glass colors and shapes in the studio, and you are welcome to bring your own beach finds to work into your design.
Can I make a sea glass frame at home?
Yes. Choose Take & Make in the buy box and everything you need is in the kit. Let it dry overnight before you hang it.
Is the studio BYOB, and can kids come?
Yes to both. Paisley Grace Makery is BYOB for Open Paint, evening workshops and private parties. Open Paint (11am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday) is for all ages, and the 6pm Pick Your Project workshops are for ages 16 and up.
Can we make sea glass art at a private party?
Yes. Sea glass projects can be booked for birthdays, bachelorette parties, girls' nights and team outings. Private parties have no guest minimum, and adult parties last about 2.5 hours. See our private party options.
